Projects completed
Under the aegis of ”Schools for Peace” we have completed the following projects:
School in Mohmandan
The building of a school for girls in Mohmandan (Balkh province, northern Afghanistan). The school building consists of eleven rooms: 9 classrooms, a school office/teachers’ room and a library/storeroom. The total surface amounts to 1 932 square metres, including the educational/usable floor space of 1200 square metres. The building can hold 500 people. The project was completed March 2006.
School building complex (2 schools) in Qaramqul
Establishing a school building complex and water tanks in Afghanistan (Qaramqul, Faryab province in north-western Afghanistan). The complex holds circa 2000 students. The project involved establishing a school building that would embrace primary, secondary and high schools in Qaramqul (Qaramqul High School), a school building that would embrace primary and secondary schools (Nasswan Yusuf Merzaiee) for girls in Qaramqul, sports and leisure area, water tanks with water treatment filters, school equipment and study aid collection and shipment.
Volunteer projects 2006
The Association volunteers, for the aid for Afghanistan project co-financed in 2006 by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, worked in Afghanistan as teachers of English, methodology of teaching and computer science. For many participants of those courses it was the first time ever to encounter a non-Afghan culture, and to have a chance to learn something about a country of a different cultural region. Without doubt the effort the volunteers put into their work helped to create a positive image of Poland beyond its borders.
Textbooks and other study aids 2002-2006
Study aid (books, school textbooks, mainly English ones, notebooks, coloured pencils, office supplies, etc.) were shipped to schools located in the northern part of Afghanistan and to the Mazar-e Sharif University.

In spring 2008 an additional building comprising the Balkh University Faculty of Agriculture building complex in Mazar-e Sharif was already under construction. As early as the beginning of 2007 we took first steps to start the construction work of a vocational school of agriculture building and a dormitory in Mazar-e Sharif. We drew up a detailed building project in co-operation with our long-time partners: VUSAF, an Afghan NGO, and Afghanistan-Schulen, a German NOGO (www.afghanistan-schulen.de)... (more >>>)
Establishing a school building complex in Zenda Jan (Afghanistan)

The envisaged launch date of the project is August/September 2009.
